“This is History. Terrible History. This story is inhabited by persons who existed and passed each other on the street. In the first years of the 1st century of our era, the Romans continue to invade the lands around the Mediterranean. They put monarchs and savage dictators in power to dominate the peoples of those lands. And there, a princess called Salome secretly supports the rebels who resist the rule of King Herode, a corrupt person appointed by Rome. A man without morals who governs without laws.
John the Baptist, spiritual leader of his people, speaks up against the invader, is made prisoner and is waning in the prison of Herode’s Palace. He gives up his life for New Times. He is a Prophet. He says that hope is the breath of all dreams. And he arouses the Princess’ desire.
Salome suffers, lost in the head of her lover John the Baptist. Rejected by him, she turns into a bleeding woman. As the expression of Absolute Sensual Power, Salome’s desire for John the Baptist increases, and overflows in death.
Love and death live in a permanent embrace, and Salome breaks the red line that leads to delusions. Induced by her mother Queen Herodias, she dares to ask her stepfather the King for the head of the Baptist.
Sex has the power to move, love and destroy the world. And that power is called Salome.”  Magüi Mira
