Pilolobus, the prestigious North American contemporary dance company, looks back to the past to present re:Creation: a collection of choreographies hailed for having altered the landscape of dance and theatre. re:Creation is both timely and timeless. Each presentation is a sensory experience in which the pieces range from the brand new Noctuary; Walklyndon, a fundamental piece in the Pilobolus repertoire, an all-time favorite, which captures the playful essence of the company's early days; Gnomen, which explores the interconnectivity of the human spirit: the need to touch, heal and uplift each other in difficult times; the majestic and fascinating trio On the nature of things, about the iconic story of desire and its intertwined connection with shame and revenge, and the group Branches, a celebration of the world around us.
Since 1971, Pilobolus has been taking the body’s physical capacities to their limit, exploring its beauty and power. Its multidisciplinary collaborations with some of the world’s most important artists and creators are significant. Pilobolus has created more than 120 pieces that have been presented in more than 65 countries. They have performed on Broadway, at the gala of the Oscars and at the Olympic Games, and have appeared in numerous television programmers, films and advertisements. Its many awards include a nomination to the Grammys, a Primetime Emmy and several Lions at the Cannes International Festival of Creativity.
