Once again the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra will fulfil the emblematic tradition of welcoming the new year with, amongst other pieces of music, a selection of waltzes and polkas, a must in New Year concert programmes. Strauss, Léhar, Sibelius and Korngold will be at the Teatro Cervantes with the OFM and the the German maestro Florian Csizmadia as conductor.
Florian Csizmadia (Mannheim, 1976) is currently Music Director of the Theatre Vorpommern and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Western Pomerania. He conducts several new operatic productions every season and is responsible, as Artistic Director, for the planning and programming of the annual concerts, as well as for the orchestra’s outreach. He also publishes regularly in musicological journals and books.
