The guitarist Vicente Amigo, an essential figure of contemporary music, is returning to the Teatro Cervantes with a renovated live show in which he will perform pieces from his latest records and some from what will be his new one, Andenes del tiempo. Flamenco sounds full of nuances and emotions: Music with Andalusian and Spanish roots that rises towards universality.
Vicente Amigo was born in Guadalcanal (Seville) in 1967 and grew up in Cordoba. Having played the guitar since he was child, his records reveal that he is one of the most innovative and fertile creators of present day music. The awards he has won, including a Grammy and the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts, bear witness to a career based on a passion for creating, discipline and consistency.
In addition to winning the Gold Medal of Fine Arts and two Grammys, for Ciudad de las ideas (2001) and Memoria de los sentidos (2017), Vicente Amigo won the Ondas Award and the Bordón Minero Award of the Cante de las Minas festival in La Unión. He has been distinguished by the General Society of Authors (SGAE) and as honorary member of the United Nations of the Arts & Sciences and Flamenco Guitar Ambassador. He has also been named Adopted Son of Cordoba.
