Bergman places us in front of a mirror with seven scenes, seven phases of the relationship between Juan and Mariana during their marriage and after their divorce. A roller coaster of sensations in the course of 25 years. Ricardo Darin and Andrea Pietra are amusing, overwhelming, provoke emotions and make us accomplices of situations that always have to do with love and the human condition, with which the audience easily identifies. And this is the play’s real value: it speaks of things that we all know and have probably experienced.
In its long season in Argentina, Escenas de la vida conyugal was extremely successful with the public and critics alike, winning 4 Estrella de Mar awards and the Jose Maria Vilches award, distinction given to plays that highlight human dignity and social values.
