Emily is eighty-five years old and lives at Longue Vie, a home for old people to which she moved when she started becoming forgetful. But she is strong-willed and refuses to give in. She has a secret plan to recover her memory, but only 24 hours to execute it. This is her last opportunity and says to herself: “Let’s go, nothing can go wrong!”:
Brisa, who is twenty-one, lives “imprisoned” in a place where she does not belong because one day she decided to stop eating. Her life has intersected with Emily’s, who is like no other grandmother and pursues her trying to help her find hunger. Brisa has plenty of time and knows Emily’s secret. She has decided to be her ally because she thinks that “perhaps, this time, someone will finally listen.”
When the ingredients of “the secret” are a grandmother hacker, a blow-out, an alliance between extremes, songs that save recollections and a dose of irrepressible hope, who can resist trying one more time?
Tras Teatro was founded in Malaga in 2019 with the objective of telling their own stories about the world around us, with a focus on two main lines of work: on one hand, generating new versions of texts or characters from universal literature with a present-day perspective to bring them closer to contemporary spectators; and on the other, to produce plays that are perceptive, critical, that allow us to empathize, that are moving and make us see ourselves as a reflection of the society that surrounds us. They believe that the performing arts are a Trojan horse that must serve to generate, from the inside out, dialogue and unity and be a transformative element.
