In an ordinary bookstore of an ordinary city, a group of residents of get together: their neighbourhood is on the verge of disappearing due to the needs of the new urban planning, namely the productive model. These survivors of rent control talk about their last hours before confronting an uncertain future, in which dreams are made of thick smoke and memories of soft mud.
Los perros flacos is about faith as a path to redemption, as a driving force of resistance to oblivion, to death, to the reality of a new world that inexorably imposes itself, in spite of the collateral damage caused, with the option of renewal or death. It seeks to make visible the harsh reality of those who stay behind, the skinny dogs shaking off fleas in the midst of the ruins of identity and memory of people who wonder if someone will rummage through the rubble of conscience, if memory can defy death, if there is room for hope.
Teatro del Náufrago was created in Malaga in 2015 with the objective of taking spectators to territories occupied by questions, incomprehension, irreverence…by means of a special form of experiencing theatre that allows us to question the real world through fiction. For this company, the stage is the perfect setting in which to come together, to feel and avoid each other, communicate, dream awake and confront the real world. They consider themselves survivors of a shipwreck struggling to get the ship back on course and avoid drifting
This is their third production, following RIP: Cuatro velas para Sofía and El viaje del Veronal, productions which were part of the programme of the 39th Theatre Festival of Malaga.
