Donde nacen las palabras speaks about the re-encounter of some childhood friends who, following the death of one of them, decide to distance themselves. Years later, as adults, they meet again. Because of the Covid pandemic, they have to confine themselves together and live once again as they did years before, to discover that life after the age of thirty is not what they were told. Outward appearances, reproaches of the past, lack of communication and their professional and family aspirations will make them wonder if some friendships deserve a second chance
Premiered at the 40th Theatre Festival of Malaga, Donde mueren las palabras (finalist for the 2020 National Dramatic Literature Award), was performed for four seasons in Madrid, where it had a great success with critics and the public alike. Recognition that crossed borders, allowing it to be staged in different countries in Latin America, where it was considered one of the 10 best works of 2021.
Alejandro Vergara (La promesa), David Matarín (Sueños de libertad) and Iván Montes (El secreto de Puente Viejo), together with the author and director Ángel Caballero (Desaparecidos, El marqués) have come together once again with the sequel Donde nacen las palabras, in which we will see these four friends facing the new vicissitudes of adult life, with laughter as a safe-conduct.
