Eliades Ochoa is one of the most important soneros of all time, the best Cuban guitarist of his generation and a remarkable defender of traditional Cuban music. His distinctive cowboy hat and his penchant for wearing black have caused him to be known as Cuba’s Johnny Cash. Although he already had an established career, in 1997 his life changed forever with the release of the iconic album Buena Vista Social Club, produced by Ry Cooder, which also changed the history of the music of Cuba forever. He achieved international success, began touring all over the world and collaborated in other mythical record productions with artists such as Enrique Bumbury, Luis Eduardo Aute, Jarabe de Palo, Armando Manzanero, Pablo Milanés, and recently with rapper C. Tangana.
The Cuban star returns with a new album, Guajiro, to be released in May 2023, of which he is the author of most of the compositions and on which collaborations range from Rubén Blades to Joan as Joan As Police Woman.
