Considered one of Mexico’s best new composers and singers, 24-year old Silvana is at the forefront of a movement of independent women artists who represent alternative Latin American music of the last decade. In her case, she has brought the legacy of Latin American songs into the 21st century.
Even though she plays many instruments, she normally prefers the Venezuelan cuatro, whose small body and warm sound adapts well to her hands and synchronises with the captivating variations of her voice. She grew up singing the songs of Veracruz, baroque choral music and later jazz. She is an iconoclast who discards musical trends in favor of a personal poetic style that goes directly to the heart of those who listen to her.  .
Her international fame stems from her collaborations and recordings with other artists, such as Jorge Drexler, Natalia LaFourcade, Mon Laferte, Sìlvia Pérez Cruz and Love of Lesbian.
“My music is who I am”, she says.
