Divided into eleven scenes with fourteen dancers on stage, Querencia, the new show of Antonio Najarro's company, is a journey through the interpretative and aesthetic beauty of bolero, flamenco and traditional dance. This is Najarro’s sixth production, with which he aims to go back to his origins, to recover and highlight the inspiration of the major choreographic ballets that nurtured the greatness of dancers such as Antonio Ruiz Soler and Mariemma, among others. A show which highlights all styles of Spanish dance.
Antonio Najarro, ex-director of the Spanish National Ballet, set up his own company in 2002, with which he has directed and choreographed six shows: Tango flamenco (2022), Flamencoriental (2006), Jazzing flamenco (2008), Suite Sevilla (2011), Alento (2020) y Querencia (2022). Najarro combines premieres and tours with intense pedagogical work to disseminate Spanish dance by means of lectures, master classes, conferences, meetings with the public and, above all, with La mirada de la danza española, his pedagogical show currently on tour.
