MANUEL LIÑÁN IS AWARDED THE NATIONAL DANCE PRIZE 2017

 Hand programme (ESP)

“When I was little I would lock myself in my room and dress up with my mother’s Green skirt. I’d put flowers in my hair, put on make-up and dance where no one saw me. That dancing was unthinkable outside those four walls. ¡Viva! Stems from these intimate memories of childhood, in circumstances  in which social and artistic rules impose on artists, in one way or another,  that they express themselves in accordance with their gender. “ Liñan proposes the plurality of dance, its different forms and the singularity of each one as a celebration.  "We want to dance. Chimpún.” Manuel Liñán
The dancer and choreographer from Granada Manuel Liñán, winner of the 2017 National Dance Award, is an artist of deep and pure flamenco roots. He is life, freshness and passion. Following years of research of new trends, he is inclined to continue with tradition and take it to an incredible point between geniality and simplicity, placing him at the avant-garde of flamenco.
